To whom it may concern,
The Eastern Cape will host the Senior Citizen of the Year (SCOTY) for 2018 on 6 October 2018 at 14h00 at the Sun Boardwalk Kiplings Brasserie, in Port Elizabeth.
The Golden Oldies fund raising Club has run SCOTY, since 2012, with Winners being announced in each of the three age categories (70-79 years; 80-89 years; 90+ and special mentions in the 100+ age group), as well as an Overall Winner.
The SCOTY initiative promotes active ageing and endeavors to bridge the gap between the youth and senior citizens. Inspiring young people to draw from the experience and wisdom of their seniors, as well as motivating to make provision for their retirement years, whilst being active. SCOTY recognizes and honors the contributions, in both time and effort, volunteered by the senior citizens in our communities, to make a difference! Senior Citizens of our Community are people instilled with experience, wisdom and expertise... and it is only fitting that we acknowledge and celebrate them in true style!
